Tarot Cards. Reading the energy
I have been reading the cards for many years. Some of my clients
have asked me to help them learn how to read tarot cards. So I put
together a small booklet for them to read. I often say that some
people are gifted with reading tarot cards and gifted with the
intuitive powers to read them. Some just have a psychic sense and
don’t necessarily understand anything about the tarot cards, but know
to pick up on the energy with in them from the person who has handled
them.
Each psychic or tarot card reader has a ritual that will help them to
get the querrent (the person who is having the reading) to input their
energy into the cards. But, it is important not to have the energy
from a previous person in the cards. This can cloud the clarity of the
reading to such an extent that the cards become scummy or dirty with
unwanted energy. A set of well used cards, should still be slippery no
matter how large of small they are. To keep them this way, it helps to
know how to get rid of unwanted energy.
First take the cards and place them in the left hand. A highly
sensitive or intuitive even psychic reader of cards should be able to
read the energy level of the cards. They can produce anything from a
hum in the palm chakra to a tingle in the fingers or the hand and
anything in-between. Learning to recognize the energy and the need to
dispel it comes with practice. But to get there one must be able to
follow a few simple guidelines. When I have been asked by clients why
I do what I do with my cards, I tell them it is to get rid of their
energy with in the cards. Each turn of the cards I do a small ritual,
I get rid of their energy. Because it acts like a layer of mud or
brick. The more energy that accumulates, the harder it is to get rid
of, and the less likely I am to be able to get an accurate reading.
I do my own ritual for getting rid of energy, any one who wishes to
start practising reading the tarot, can come up with their version of
getting rid of energy, but the one I have found that is the most
useful is doing a side figure eight and dotting the centre with my
forefinger. Then holding my hand out and saying, I close down this
reading/energy/or what ever it is that has been done, and give back to
God and the universe what I no longer need, in the name of light love
God and the universe, amen. It is something to bear in mind that when
performing a ritual that it is strictly adhered to. If you are not
going to ritualize something, then don’t use items such as tarot
cards.
I have found that this is the quickest way to get rid of any left over
energy within the cards. Some people find it funny that I try to keep
my cards clean, but I am very strict about what I do when I ritualize
this. It also means that I don’t have to worry about any latent energy
hanging around that might leave an aggressive impression on another
individuals reading.
When laying out a reading, it can be done a number of ways. But, it’s
the energy and not so much as the reading that makes the first
impression. For others it’s different, and so it goes, each psychic or
tarot card reader is inherently different from each other. It would be
boring to have the same style of reading from each person. So, for me
it is the energy that manifests itself first. I tell my clients what
type of energy I see, usually with my psychic sense.
If the energy is intense, and a lot of questions have been asked, I
will sit back for a couple of minutes and let the energy calm down.
Sometimes if I go any where near the cards, I may end up by fussing
the energy and then it may never calm down. But, I will usually read
what the energy ribbons have to say and how they connect the cards.
Other times, there is very little energy in the cards because the
person has not held them long enough or they have no energy to speak
of. The reading isn’t as intense then, but it still has an energy that
allows me to read.
Although the accomplished psychic can read the different combination
of cards after thorough practice. It takes years to learn this. Being
psychically aware gives the added benefit of being able to read the
energy rather than the cards themselves. Over the years if a card deck
has been used time and again, it will become familiar to the user and
so will the ribbons of energy, or other familiar nuances that occur
when reading the cards. I use several types of readings that allow me
to give a comprehensive reading, or, I can give a quick five minute
reading to those who wish to know just the basics.
Since I don’t do psychic fairs, they tend to be just for personal or
family use. But the energy transference is still the same as for when
I do a comprehensive reading. If the cards are handled too much by
someone, then they get stagnant. There is no longer an energy reading
to them and they become more the individuals cards than for a supposed
reading. Which is why I get my clients to handle the cards for only
three readings, or three turns of the cards.
I love reading the tarot cards. I do believe that you can’t teach
anyone how to read the cards, but can show them where an energy is and
how the reading can go. If reading from a book, individuals might miss
the meaning of the energy and it will dissipate before it can be
interpreted. But, I read from a book when I first started out. I was
less than half way through, when I stopped and thought that this was
nuts. All the different combinations that were available had my mind
boggling. So I put the card down, and did as a friend suggested. I
outline this in my previous article. I was soon learning faster than I
expected and learnt more about each card than the book was able to
tell.
Reading Tarot cards is a personal choice. To the unproven eye it can
be a very nerve racking experience and I always ask if they’ve had a
reading before. But, each reading I do is unique. Something special
about the person I’m reading for comes forward. I’ve very rarely not
been able to read for someone. I’ve not had a person yet that has had
a reading that hasn’t been unique. But, life would be boring if each
reading were to be the same!
